An Olin School graduate and devoted ROTC cadet, Stuart Wolfer was commissioned in May 1993 as a 2nd Lieutenant and later transferred to the Army Reserve while attending Loyola Law School. Major Wolfer served as a logistics officer with the 11ⁿᵗʰ Battalion, 104ᵗʰ Division, and deployed to Iraq in December 2007 as part of the Multinational Security Transition Command’s Civilian Police Transition Team in Baghdad. Sadly, on April 6, 2008, he was killed by indirect fire. Remembered as “one of the most dynamic men I’ve ever met,” Wolfer was also a loving father and community servant—working with local Scouting groups and leaving a legacy celebrated through events like the dedication of Wolfer Hall and the Major Stuart A. Wolfer Institute.
